Mrs. Addie Belle Morgan age 101, of Ludington, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington. She was born September 29, 1915 in Boyne City to Levi and Mildred (Wibert) Sanders. Addie graduated from Petoskey High School and married Gayle Morgan in Petoskey on November 23, 1938. She was a homemaker and was employed at Party Line Delicatessen and the kitchen at Danish Brotherhood on bingo nights. She was an avid bowler until the age of 90, a member of the United Methodist Church of Ludington, Order of the Eastern Star #327, the Rebbekahs Lodge #87 and a member of the Past Noble Grands.
Addie is survived by one daughter: Eleanor (Edward) Collins-Sanborn of Ludington, MI; four grandchildren: Charles (Joyce) Smith of Kent City, MI, Amy (Tyrone) Kapala of Scottville, MI, Sharon (Richard Meade) Dostal of Ludington, MI and Marsha (Michael) Knizewski of South Haven, MI; twelve great- grandchildren: Kayla (Chuck Baron) Karina, Kyle (Melissa) and Kara Kapala, Tyler (Katie), Cody and Bradon Denton, Chase and Caitlin Knizewski, Andrew, Keith and Danielle Smith; six great-great-grandchildren: Trenton and Maddison Yost, Abigail and Brayden Baron, Brohdy Huggard and Jameson Kapala; three step-grandchildren: Tristan, Travis and Taylor Dostal; two step- great -great grandchildren: Dean and Dax Dostal; one sister: Mildred "Elaine" Graham of Hiawatha, KS; She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Gayle on Jan 14, 1971 and her daughter: Wilma Mae Smith; four brothers: Charles, Roy, Russell, and Levi Sanders; her sister: Emma Kopkau; two sons- in- law: Charles Smith and Russell Collins Jr.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Morgan will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 2:00 pm at United Methodist Church of Ludington, with Pastor Dennis Bromley officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from Noon until time of service at the church. The family requests that any memorials be directed to United Methodist Church of Ludington, 5810 Bryant Road, Ludington, MI 49431.
