Alan Roy Moulds, 64, of Mears, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, after battling cancer. Born on November 18, 1961, in Lake City, Iowa, Alan lived a life filled with love, dedication, and adventure.
Alan was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife of 40 years, Sharon. Together they built a life centered on family and shared experiences. He was a proud father of two sons, Andrew and his wife Mary, and Ryan and his wife Naomi. Alan is also survived by: his parents, Mel Moulds (wife, Carol) and Beverly Hollenbeck; his sisters, Sandy Dole and Renee Hagan; multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and his beloved dogs, Maxwell, Maggie, and Maisey - who brought him immense joy.
Alan’s career reflected his deep expertise in men’s footwear. Over the years, he worked for Nordstroms, Allen Edmonds, Red Wing Shoes, as well as several family-owned shoe stores. His knowledge and professionalism earned him respect from colleagues and customers alike.
Beyond his work, Alan embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He enjoyed fishing, bicycling, camping, golfing, walking, kayaking, and exploring National Parks. He also had a passion for learning new skills in carpentry that allowed him to update the family home and decks. Endeavors that highlighted his resourcefulness and determination.
Alan will be remembered as a faithful husband, loving father and supportive friend who enriched the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy for love and kindness bring comfort to those he leaves behind.
