Mr. Albert F. Van Bergen, age 87 of Weare Township, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010. He was born July 6, 1922 in Hart to John and Louise (Schrivers) Van Bergen. On December 4, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare, he married Doris Ann Nutenbaum. Mr. Van Bergen farmed all of his life and attended St. Joseph Catholic School. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 2199 Hart. Albert had served on the Hart Area Fire Department, Hart Public School Board and was the Weare Township Supervisor. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Van Bergen of Hart; their children, Tom Van Bergen of Hart, Jack Van Bergen of Hart, Don Van Bergen of Muskegon, Rick Van Bergen of Pentwater, Michael and Kathryn (Tubbs) Van Bergen of Hart, Jim and Julie (Murawski) Van Bergen of North Muskegon, Jerry Van Bergen of Hart, Denny and Renee (Raulin)Van Bergen of Houston,TX, Chuck and Toni (Verschueren) Van Bergen of Whitehall, Anne Hardy of Pentwater, Linda (Mark) Seyfred of Franklin, TN, Nancy Olds of Whitehall; 18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with another expected in April. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare with Fr. Phil Shangraw presiding. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Friday 6-8 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility or the Oceana County Council on Aging.
