Aleatha Lynn Cox, 66, of Ludington died due to a house fire October 11, 2017, with her special four-legged companion, Mollie. She was born February 15, 1951, at Stearns Hospital in Ludington.
Aleatha worked as a waitress at the Airport Restaurant and at Sunrise Café. She then went to work as a cashier at Shop-n-Save where she was most recently employed. She looked forward to going to work and being able to talk with all of the customers. Aleatha was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, who loved going to their games and watching them on T.V. She was also an avid Elvis Presley fan, and loved her trip out to Graceland. Aleatha bowled on several leagues at Park Lanes over the years and enjoyed collecting bird figurines. Most of all, Aleatha loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Aleatha is survived by: her husband, Clarence; her children, Terry (Misty) Frey of Ludington, Marcy Frey of Scottville and Allen (Michelle) Frey of Ludington; her grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah, Alexandra, Gracie, Taylor and Lilly; her step-children, Lynnette Cox and Lori Cox; 3 step-grandchildren, Garrett, Nickolai and Charles Jr.; her brothers and sisters, Marcine (Bill) Cox of Freesoil, Deborah MacDonald of Ludington, Rommie (Jennifer) MacDonald of Scottville and Rev. Ronald (Carla) Iris of Allen Park; her mother-in-law, Loretta Cox of Freesoil; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Aleatha was preceded in death by: her parents, Lewis and Anita (Whitaker) MacDonald; and her granddaughter, Marianna.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the United Methodist Church of Ludington, 5810 Bryant Road, with Pastor Dennis Bromley officiating. Interment will be in the South Victory Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017, from 6-8 PM, at the King Event Center, 301 N. Jebavy Road, and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
