Mr. Alejandro Diaz, age 87, of Walkerville, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012. He was born November 26, 1924, in Mexico to Refugio and Virginia (Arreano) Diaz. He married Maria Inez Esparza on November 13, 1958, in Mexico. He was employed at Chase Farms and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Alejandro is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maria Diaz; his children, Maria de Jesus (Jose W.) Valdez, Maria de Rosario Diaz, Alejandro Diaz, Jr., Dora Ella (Ernesto) Galvan, David (Maria) Diaz, Amalia Diaz, Alicia (Maximiliano) Toledo, Victor Manuel Diaz, Maria Inez (Gonzalo) Flores, and Jose Angel (Sulma) Diaz; and one brother, Juvensio Diaz. Thirty-six grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Genaro, Isabel, and Trinidad Diaz.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Diaz will be offered Friday, March 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Bolster presiding. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. A second visitation will be Friday, one hour prior to service at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Memorials may be given to the family.
