Mrs. Alice Irene Chapman, age 98, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013. She was born April 8, 1915, in Mears, Michigan to Earl and Hallie (Spellman) Lambrix. She graduated from Hart High School in the Class of 1933. She married Albert Chapman on July 11, 1981 in Hart, and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was employed by Brown's Gambles Store in Hart for 25 years until her retirement in 1981. Alice enjoyed crocheting and sewing alterations; she was a good cook.

Alice is survived by her nephews, George (Janet) Fishel of East Tawas, John Fishel of Ludington, Dan (Laura) Fishel of Morley, and Leroy Lambrix of California; her nieces, Alice (Fred) Thompson of Shelby, and Nancy (Robert) Enders of Mount Pleasant; her step-daughters, Shirley Tice and Jean Rosa; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her sister, Julia Anna Fishel; and her brother, Lynn Lambrix;

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Chapman will be Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.at the Shelby United Methodist Church with Pastor Terri Cummins officiating. Interment will be in Mears Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Cherry Blossom Manor, 611 East Main Street, Hart, MI 49420.
