It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Alissa "Lisa" Marie Mori, 42 of Buckley, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and mother. Lisa passed away on December 5, 2022, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, after suffering a very short battle of Squamous Cell Lung Cancer.  Our family is both devastated and shocked by her death.

Lisa was born on June 27, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois, to James V. Mori and Judith A. Mori (Aramowicz). Lisa was the second of three children. She graduated High School from Buckley Community School in 1998.

Lisa was a devoted Mother to her 6-year-old son, Joseph, "Bear" who was her world and the light of her life. Lisa exemplified motherhood and provided the best foundation on which to live his life, teaching him to be selfless, kind and full of life. She was his number one supporter and cheerleader in everything he desired to do. He loves her more than words can describe.

Lisa was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many. Anyone who knew her, knew she had a huge heart. She fiercely loved her family and everyone she met. She was incredibly loved by many in return. There was not one day that Lisa took for granted and always looked for opportunities to brighten someone's day by just a smile or giving the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She always knew the right thing to say, never missed a special date, and always put everyone else above herself. We will all miss her greatly.

Lisa is survived by her son and only child, Joseph; parents, Jim and Judy Mori of Buckley, Michigan; brother, Ken (Kelly) Mori of Georgia; sister, Kim (Andy) Loveland of Honor, Michigan; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews.

A Time of Gathering will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 3:00 PM -- 4 :00 PM at the Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM and ending with a light luncheon at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
