Amy Emma Street, 95, of Traverse City, formerly of Morris, Illinois, died peacefully surrounded by love on July 13, 2021. She was born on May 11, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of James & Emma Lev.
Amy is survived by: her children, Kendall Street of St. Louis, Missouri, and Kim (Homer) Daniels of Marseilles, Illinois; and her niece, Nancy (Steve) Dow of Traverse City. She is also survived by: her grandchildren, Tiffany Daniels, Stacey (Chris) Brown, Joshua (Jocelyn Campbell) Daniels, and Jordan Daniels; seven great-grandchildren, Lennon, Dylan, Hunter, Mason, Jillian Daniels, Joseph & Maxwell Brown along with many nephews & nieces.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, James & Emma Lev; her husband, George Street, and her brothers, Roy and Vern Lev.
On June 11, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Amy married the love of her life, George Street. They were married over 50 years and had two children, Kim and Kendall. They raised their children in Wonderlake, Illinois, and later moved to Morris, Illinois.
Amy enjoyed working at the high school, being a Superstar Avon Lady and heading up the "Friends of the Library" in Morris. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working her daily crossword puzzles. She was a "Die Hard Cubbie Fan" and loved to watch the games, while also keeping score. Amy loved with all her heart and because of that she had many special friends. Her family meant everything to her, and she enjoyed all the time she was able to spend with them.
Visitation will be at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, 200 N. Brownson Ave., Kingsley, Michigan, 49649, on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Memorial services will be conducted at 6:30 PM with Pastor Tim Jahn officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave., Traverse City, MI 49686 and Morris Public Library, 604 Liberty St., Morris, IL 60450.
