Arthur R. Susan, 97, of Hart, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. He was born October 27, 1923, in Everett, Massachusetts, the son of Arthur and Althea Susan.
Arthur graduated from Everett High School in June 1941. Afterwards, Arthur served in the US Army, where he fought in World War II and earned the rank of sergeant. He was an active member and past commander of the Eldon L. Chadwick VFW Post 6017 in Pentwater.
After returning home in 1945, Arthur entered the school of American Television Institute Of Technology, Chicago, Illinois, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Television Engineering degree in November of 1950. He worked in the young television industry in Chicago through the 1950s. He then went on to work at Fleetwood Furniture until his retirement in 1990.
Arthur is survived by: his grandson, John Paul Faye; his granddaughter, Mary (Bartie)(Faye) Green; 4 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by: his first wife, Mary Susan; his second wife, Celene (Idema) Susan; and his step-daughter and her husband, Constance and John Faye.
Arthur's family would like to extend many thanks to Father Sam and Jane Morrison and Terry Roach and many more from St. James Episcopal Church in Pentwater, Michigan, where Arthur had been a very active member.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Mears Cemetery, with Father Sam Morrison officiating. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the US Army and the Eldon L. Chadwick VFW Post 6017.
