Mrs. Audrey Ellen Villadsen, age 93, of Pentwater, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014. She was born September 15, 1920, in Coldwater, Michigan to Clare and Nora (Field) Walker. She graduated from Coldwater High School in the Class of 1938 and married Lester M. Villadsen in Coldwater on June 1, 1940. Together they owned and operated Villadsen Tree Farms. Audrey always spoke very highly of her husband, Lester. She referred to him as a person who had "a lot of life". They loved to go dancing. He was a good husband and a good father. They were married fifty-four years before he passed away November 30, 1994. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was always there to assist those in need. Audrey was a skilled crafter and seamstress and enjoyed ceramics and quilting; she always kept up-to-date on craft technology. She also enjoyed canning and gardening and raised chickens. People around Pentwater knew her as "the egg lady". She was a member of Hart Congregational United Church of Christ.
Audrey is survived by two daughters, Elaine "Kay" (John) Hauswirth of Monnet, Missouri, and Connie (Ronald) Korsky of Rockford, Michigan; one son, Lyle "Mike" (Bonnie) Villadsen of Pentwater, Michigan; six grandchildren, Helen (Darrel) Alvesteffer of Pentwater, Michigan, Lester (Sarah) Villadsen of Pentwater, Michigan, Jill Hauswirth of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Karen (Shane) Marriott of Little Rock, Arkansas, Michelle (Mark) Jacobson of Cedar Springs, Michigan, and Ross (Connie M.) Korsky of Auburn, Washington; ten great-grandchildren, Aaron Alvesteffer, Christopher John Blackburn, Andre Alvesteffer, Jarrod Blackburn, Severena Jacobson, Micah Jacobson, Serenity Hauswirth, January Marriott, Benjamin Korsky, Thomas Korsky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a sister, Alice Irelan in 2007; and a grandson, Jean Paul Hauswirth in 2003.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Villadsen will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Hart Congregational United Church of Christ. Interment will be in North Weare Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
