Anderson
August 5, 1925 – January 13, 2019
Barbara Ann Anderson, 93, of Ludington, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 13, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 5, 1925, in Ludington, the daughter of William and Carrie (Hansen) Hamilton.
Barbara retired from Jackson Jordan (Harsco Rail) in May of 1987 where she had been employed for many years. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed knitting, and feeding and watching the birds and deer in her backyard. Barbara also enjoyed baking, and was known for making special birthday cookies for her family and friends. Most of all, Barbara loved spending time with her family and playing cards together, especially the games of Rummy with her grandchildren.
Barbara was an active life-long member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Barbara is survived by: 3 sons, Edwin Anderson of Detroit, James (Alice) Anderson of Ludington and Robert (Connie) Anderson of Ludington; her grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Palma, Becky (Dan Haiss) Perysian, Lisa (Derek) Weurding, Shane Wardlow, Kim (Matt) Johnson, Jenny (Sean) Roach, and Jamie (Jordan) McClure; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Perysian, Riley Perysian, Mike Palma Jr., Anika Weurding, Amelia Weurding, Avonlea Johnson, Collin Roach, Ava Roach and 1 great-grandson on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
On September 4, 1948, Barbara married Burton E. Anderson, who preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by: her infant son, Richard Lee; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Doris Hamilton and Leroy and Marie Hamilton; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and James Rye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Avenue, Ludington, with Reverend Douglas Niemi officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Michigan Audubon Society.
