Barbara (Barb) L. (Wolcott) McKenna, 91, of Interlochen, Michigan, passed away peacefully Friday, April 21, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born March 23, 1932, in Saginaw, Michigan to Edward O. Wolcott and Ethel M. (Lorts) Wolcott.

Barb spent a good part of her formative years in Manchester, Iowa, before returning to the Saginaw, Michigan, area where she graduated from Arthur Hill High School (class of 1950) and met the love of her life James (Jim) F. McKenna. They were married on June 7, 1952. Barb proudly supported Jim as he earned his mechanical engineering degree at Michigan Technological University by working as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Houghton, Michigan. They raised a family of three boys in Troy, Michigan, where Barb devoted her life to being a mother and supportive wife. Barb had a great love for the outdoors and would spend as much time as possible out in it. She could often be found raking leaves and taking care of her moss at their home in Interlochen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. McKenna (10/19/21); son, John P. McKenna; and daughter-in-law Kathy McKenna.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Pamela) and Scott. She was blessed to have many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
