Mrs. Barbara J. Padecky, age 77 of Mears, died Thursday, June 3, 2010. She was born in Muskegon on October 24, 1932 to Robert and Helen (Bates) McCauley. She was a graduate of Muskegon High School in the Class of 1950. On August 18, 1950 in Muskegon, she married Robert Padecky. Mrs. Padecky was employed by the Muskegon Public Schools as a secretary in the high school office, until she retired on January 1, 1985. She attended the Mears Community Methodist Church. Mrs. Padecky is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Padecky of Mears; children, David Padecky of Muskegon, Diane Hatt of Grand Haven; 5 grandchildren, Donovan Padecky, Davina Padecky, Gregory Hatt, Jordan Hatt, Lauren Hatt; brother, Donald (Mary) McCauley of Muskegon; sister, Mildred (William) Burmeister of Saline, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gerald and wife Gus McCauley, 2 sisters Dorothy and husband Frank Gerencer, Shirley and husband Trace Berg. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Padecky will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the Mears Community Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Vanderlaan officiating. Interment will be in the Mears Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
