Bernice "Bernie Lou" Wahr age 85 of Ludington, passed away on January 1, 2017 at home. She was born January 29, 1931 in Pere Marquette Township, MI daughter of William and Ethel (Kaser) Brozzo.

Bernie Lou was a graduate of Ludington High School. On August 30, 1952 she married Jack Wahr, in Ludington, where they made their home for the next forty-nine years. She was employed by Oakview Medical Care Facility for twenty seven years and her love of people and caring for them continued long after she officially retired.

She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church. Her love of the Lord could be felt by her warmth and caring of all she met. Bernie Lou was involved with Apple Fest and baking for funeral luncheons for many years. She loved being a greeter at church on Sunday mornings where she could share a smile and collect hugs from her many friends.

Her greatest love was attending everything her grandchildren were involved in. She was the number one fan at all their sporting events, plays and numerous activities where her grandmotherly love was not limited to just her own grandchildren, but extended to their friends as well.

Bernie Lou was a lifelong blood donor and volunteer at blood drives. She enjoyed swimming and the Wellness Center at WSCC, monthly Pinochle club with the girls, traveling with her friends and her sister Shirley (with whom any trip could be rerouted in the search of a good piece of pie).

She is survived by her children: Kristie (Keith) Ackerman of Colon, MI, Terry (Laurie) Wahr (Mom's favorite) and Beth (Thomas) Kolaski both of Ludington, MI; Eleven grandchildren: Jill (Jason) Braman, Kelsey Ackerman, Lindy (Scott) Hewitt, Cassandra (Sonny) Munoz, Travis, Trevor, Kalli and Trenton Wahr, Jordan, Carly and Taylor Kolaski; five great-grandchildren; her sister: Shirley (Dick) Seguin of Petoskey, MI; nieces, nephews and her beloved four legged companion Lucy. Bernie Lou was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Wahr on March 4, 1998.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 301 N. Jebavy Drive, Ludington, MI 49431 with Father Wayne B. Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington, MI.
