Bettie Jean Wilkins, 74, of Traverse City, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Culver Meadows Assisted Living Center in Traverse City.  She was born August 27, 1946, in South Lyon, the daughter of Matt and Ethel (Combs) Watkins.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved to bake and was known for her delicious white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.  She was a talented quilter and seamstress.  She also enjoyed working in her gardens, watching the birds, and, when she was feeling lucky, a trip to the casino.

On January 3, 1968, in Pontiac, Bettie married John Wilkins who survives her.  She is also survived by: her children, Dawn Wilkins of Marion, Kevin Wilkins of South Dakota, and Jonathan Wilkins of Ferndale; grandchildren Matthew, Alesha, Madison, Stephen, Veronica, Clove, Bailey, and Julian; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Elliott, Freyja, RJ, Aubrey, and Adely; siblings, Herb, Mary, Doug, and Millie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Judy.
