Betty Briggs sadly left us on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 89-years-old.  She was born on January 28, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois.  She was widowed after 65 years of marriage to Richard Briggs.

Mother of five children: Tommy, Richard, Cindy, Danny, and David; grandma to three grandchildren, Danielle, Alex, and Zack; great-grandma to Avery.  She loved her grandchildren and was loved by many neighbors and friends.

Betty loved sitting on the porch watching the waves crashing against the rocks and listening to the birds chirping at her home in Williamsburg that sits right on the shore of Elk Lake.  Her hobbies included but were not limited to gardening and planting flowers, being outdoors, baking all kinds of sweet treats, walking, camping with friends and family, and cooking feasts big enough to feed an army.  She was caring, kind, generous, thoughtful, and had a heart of gold.  She will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet her.

We will always remember the good times and the love you gave us and will carry your memory in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Elk Rapids Chapel.  Interment will take place in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Tuesday February 7, 2023 at 2PM CST
