Betty Jean Castleberry, 94, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024. She was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan, on November 4, 1929, to James Hamilton and May Ida Campbell.

A homemaker most of her life, she also worked in real estate offices and many retail sales positions. She even found time to work in a local Republican campaign office. Betty loved music and even though she read music she could also play by ear. Most shared memories of her by her family always include her beautiful piano playing.

Her family enjoyed her sense of humor and would be continually surprised by her sometimes outrageous comments!

Always a devout Methodist, she liked to instill the word of the Lord in her children. We will miss her so much but it is her time to rest.

Betty was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Nile Edward Castleberry Jr.; son, Nile James; brothers, William and James; and sisters, Phyllis and Helen.

Betty is survived by: her children, Kathy (Larry) Harrigan, Karen (Jim-dec.) Olson, and Grant (Sue) Castleberry; as well as 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Redford Aldersgate United Medthodist Church, 10000 Beech Daly, Redford, MI 48239.

Visitation was held from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420. Interment was in Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia.
