Brent Herschel Kellis, aged 55, of Whitehall, Michigan passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Sunday, March 5, 2023. He was born on December 15, 1967, the son of Herschel and AnnaLou Kellis, of Muskegon.

On August 13, 1988, Brent married Gwyn Morgan and they shared 34 wonderful years together.  In 2005, they moved their family to Whitehall and bought the Maple Tree Inn.  They have three amazing children who have now grown and started lives of their own.

Brent graduated in 1986 from Reeths-Puffer High School, in Muskegon. After high school, he pursued a career in software engineering and as of recent, had moved into cyber-security technology.

Brent's greatest joy in life was his family. Since the day they were born, his children knew how deeply they were loved and cherished. His favorite time of year was Christmas, when his family was all together. He was very active in his church where he served in multiple capacities and loved the Lord with all of his heart. For fun, Brent had many skills and talents to draw from, but he most enjoyed the latest computer technologies and cooking, where he loved to share and make others happy with his "mad cooking skills."

Brent is survived by: his loving wife, Gwyn Kellis; their three children, Jacob (Julia) Kellis, Morgan Kellis (engaged to Josh Southwick), and Bradley Kellis; parents, Herschel and AnnaLou Kellis; sisters, Lynn (Michael) Shaffer and Kelly (Bruce) McKie; mother and father-in-law, Maurice and Nancy Morgan; brothers-in-law, Michael (Diane) Morgan and Daniel (Erica) Morgan; and also many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 11, at New Beginnings Church, 1830 W White Lake Dr, Whitehall, MI 49461. Light refreshments will be provided.
