Obituary

Mr. Brian Grant, age 71, of Pentwater, Michigan, died Monday April 2, 2007 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility. Brian was born in Detroit July 2, 1935, the son of Patrick and Mary D'Ambrosio Grant. He married Nancy Squire November 11, 1967 in Ludington, MI. Surviving are his wife and children, Ryan (Kristi) of Florida and Bonnie of Oregon, a cousin Sharon (Wally) McCann of Jerome, MI, niece Cindy (Brad) Page and nephew Patrick (Mary) Grant of Macomb, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry and Jerry's wife, Florence Grant. Brian's 3 years service in the Army Airborne Branch was mostly spent at Ft. Bragg, NC and he was especially proud of 77 successful parachute jumps. He was lead supervisor in the Engineering Lab for 30 years at Facet Filter Division, Madison Heights, MI and Greensboro, NC. This included times as supervisor of the country's sole Electron Beam Weld Department in Madison Heights, MI. Following retirement, Brian worked for Pentwater Township at their transfer site for a few years. Brian was the golfer, bowler, hunter of the elusive deer and snowshoe rabbits. He participated in basketball, baseball, football and continued his interest in these sports. Every person he had met was important to him, finding good in each one. Friends and family are encouraged to meet at North Weare Cemetery for the Graveside Services at 2:00 P.M., Saturday April 14th, with both Fr. Anton Tran from St. Vincents Parish and Pentwater V.F.W. Post 6017 officiating. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Please, no flowers or plants. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincents-Pentwater, Pentwater V.F.W. Post 6017, Centenary United Methodist Church-Pentwater or Pentwater Historical Society.
