Obituary

Mr. Brian L. Schaner, age 25, died Friday, November 2, 2007. He was born in Shelby on March 21, 1982 to Jerry and Karen (Christmann) Schaner. He was a member of the Class of 2000 graduating from Hart High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. On February 5, 2005, he was united in marriage with Jennifer Bishop at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Brian was an operating engineer, being employed with MacLean Construction of Ludington. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, building Demolition Derby cars and competing with them. Brian also worked along side with his father on the Schaner family farm. He will be remembered by how he could make people laugh. Brian is survived by his wife, Jenny, his parents, Jerry and Karen Schaner of Hart; brother, Jeff (Kristine) Schaner of Hart; sister, Gina (Adam) Smith of Shelby; niece, Ella Smith; nephews, Noah Smith and Ethan Schaner; his mother and father in law, Linda Plummer of Onekama and Jerry Bishop Sr. of Ferry; two brothers in law, Mike Bishop of Ferry and Jerry (Lacey) Bishop of Ludington; two sisters in law, Cathy (Allen) Blankenship of Hillsborough, IL and Bobbi Bishop of Ferry. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond (Lurrah) Schaner, Harley (Amy) Christman, Alvie (Pauline) Bishop, Gerald (Patricia) Justin. The Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare, with Fr. Anton Tran and Fr. Ron Schneider, presiders. Interment will be in the Oceana Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
