Mr. Bruce MacLaine, age 80 of Hart, died Thursday January 14, 2010. He was born July 10, 1929 in Jamaica, New York to Donald and Minnie (LaTourette) MacKenzie. On August 16, 1953 in Long Island, NY, he married the former Nancy Schivera. Mr. MacLaine was employed as a sales manager for Electrolux Corp. having retired in 1977. Following his retirement, he worked at the Meijer store in Ludington. He was a member of the Lighthouse Lutheran Church in Pentwater and a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge #18 F. &A.M. in New Jersey. Mr. MacLaine also served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy MacLaine of Hart; their children, Gayle Shinn of Manahawkin, NJ, Gregory Bruce (Rosemary) MacLaine of Toms River, NJ, Marilyn Keller of Hart, Candice (Scott) Curtis of Hart; 9 grandchildren, Douglas Shinn, Jeanenne Sprague, Caitlyn MacLaine, Steven Dunne, Courtney MacLaine, Tyler MacLaine, Amy Keller, Daniel Keller, Dakota Curtis; 4 great grandchildren, Ivy Keller, Kaitlyn Crum, Sophia Sprague, Preston Ayer; 1 sister, Dolores Allen of NY, 1 sister in law, Marilyn Fioelle of Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Harold and Donald MacKenzie. The Funeral Service for Mr. MacLaine will be held Monday, January 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the Lighthouse Lutheran Church, 8786 N. Business Route 31, Pentwater, with the Rev. Ronald Cox officiating. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home, where the Masonic Evening Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with the Wigton-Benona Masonic Lodge. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lighthouse Lutheran Church.
