Bruce Michael Wagner

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Michael Wagner, a cherished brother, uncle and friend, who left this world peacefully on June 8, 2026, at Harbor Hospice, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born on August 18, 1953, in the picturesque town of Ludington, MI, Bruce was the beloved son of the late George and Maxine Wagner. His life was a testament to joy, laughter, love of music and an enduring commitment to family and community.

Bruce grew up in a lively household surrounded by the love of his parents and the chaos of his eight siblings. He graduated from Mason County Central and completed two years of college, which laid the foundation for his lifelong passion for building and design. Bruce worked on the family fruit farm until he could pursue a career in the building trades. His vocation was deeply rooted in craftsmanship, and he became an extraordinary builder and a skilled CAD technician, creating beautiful house and furniture plans that were as much art as they were architecture. He was always creating, always innovating, to the point of crafting his own CNC machine and using it to produce many custom projects.

Following in the Wagner family building tradition, Bruce had impeccably high standards and believed that every job needed to be done right. His legacy extends far beyond the buildings he helped create – it lives on in the values he passed down, the lessons he taught and the work ethic he demonstrated every day.

While he took great pride in his work, nothing made Bruce happier than spending time in the outdoors. He loved taking camping trips with family, riding his motorcycle and quad, and snowmobiling through Michigan’s winter wonderland, especially in the U.P. He was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers, win or lose. He was also a connoisseur of good music and sound clarity, and his standards led him, his brothers and cousin to collect Cerwin Vega speakers. That, in turn, led to the famous “Wagstock” event where family and friends gathered for “One Day of Music and Beer” at the Wagner farm to “jam” for hours on end.

Though he spent a lot of time alone with his thoughts, Bruce was a spirit of happiness and cheer around people. Known for his quick wit, he was always ready with a one-liner to make you smile or laugh. His own infectious laugh had a way of making every family gathering feel complete.

Bruce is survived by his loving siblings: George (Judy), Ed (Jan), Susan, Greg (Kathy), John (Cindy), Jeff (Tracy), Wayne and Marc (Sharon). Bruce was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Kate (Anthony), Emily (Kristian), Stephanie (Rich), Jeremy (Christine), Mandy (Jason), Vanessa, Michelle, Brad, Max (Meagan), Adam (Lauren), Matthew, Kristen (Brad), Mackenzie (Makenzie), Cameron, Anna (Lauren), Julia, Thomas, Mitchell, Sydney and Madison. He was also adored by many great-nieces and nephews, as well as a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will begin with a visitation Thursday evening, June 25, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Saint Joseph Weare Catholic Church at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am, located at 2380 West Jackson Road, Hart, MI 49420.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Bruce’s memory to the American Heart Association and Harbor Hospice, honoring his legacy by supporting a cause close to his heart.

Bruce's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Trinity Hospital Muskegon and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate and dedicated care during his final days. Their kindness and support meant the world to Bruce and his loved ones.

Bruce lived a life full of love, laughter and creativity. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell, we hold onto the joy he brought into our lives, cherishing the moments shared and the lessons learned from a truly remarkable man.
