Bruce Edward Wright, 86, of Ludington, passed away Tuesday, September 17. 2024, at the Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. He was born April 2, 1938, in Ludington, the son of George and Veda (Greensides) Wright.
Bruce served in the US Army from 1959-1963.
In 2003 Bruce retired from Strait Steel and Wire where he had been employed for over 30 years. In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed playing softball when he was younger, fishing, solving jigsaw puzzles, reading, and writing, especially his book, "To God Be The Glory". Most of all, Bruce loved spending time with his family.
Bruce was passionate about serving the Lord, being a lay minister for several years, and being an active member of the Scottville Wesleyan Church.
Bruce is survived by: 2 sons, Bruce (Sheila) Wright of Grand Haven, and Paul (Julie) Wright of Allendale; 6 grandchildren, Ian Wright, Tess (Devon) Kimball, Drake Wright, Megan (Sean) Wilbur, Sierra Wright and Jasmine Dukes; 4 great-grandchildren, Gabriel Kimball, Oliver Kimball, Quinten Wilbur and Maverick Wilbur; one great-grandchild on the way; his brother, Denny (Connie) Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by: his wife of almost 60 years, Sandy Wright, in 2022; 4 sisters, June Wright, Joan Cory, Naomi Edstead, and Marguerite "Peggy" Anthony; and 2 brothers, Duane Wright and David Wright.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Scottville Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Jeff Botsford officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, in Ludington, with military honors conducted under the auspice of American Legion, Edwin H. Ewing Post #76, at 2:00 PM, Monday. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Avenue, Ludington, and at the church Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scottville Wesleyan Church.
