IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bruno
Mangiardi
February 2, 1947 – October 3, 2024
Beloved father, friend, family and community member Bruno R. Mangiardi, most recently of Manistee, MI and North Fort Myers, FL, previously of Allentown, PA, died unexpectedly but peacefully on 10/3/2024.
He was born in Spadola, Italy in 1947 to Domenico Mangiardi and Maria Rosa Mangiardi (née Rosi) and immigrated to Chicago, IL on February 6, 1958 at the age of 11. There he excelled in academics and soccer which led to college at Eastern Illinois where he studied math. He later taught at the Exxon-funded American School in Venezuela where he met Amanda Mangiardi (née Bellinger) - his eventual wife and mother to his 4 boys. They endured the loss of their first son Erick Mangiardi at age 18 months and went on to have 3 more boys, Jason, Dominic, and Adrean, whom he loved fiercely. He earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, MI, and held a series of positions in the business world culminating as a VP of Finance at InterMetro Industries before retiring due to kidney failure in his early 40's. He kept busy cooking and ensuring the next generation knew how to make his recipes, playing bocce and Italian card games while making new friends at the Italian Club, traveling, reuniting with childhood friends, forgetting and subsequently remembering to take his essential medications, and ensuring he played an active role in the lives of his family and friends. He is remembered for being a loving, passionate person and devoted father who took immense pride in his family's accomplishments (and his cooking).
Bruno was preceded in death by his father Domenico, his mother Maria Rosa, his son Erick, and is survived by his brother Vito, his sisters Rosalba and Concetta, his son Jason and husband Trevor, son Dominic and wife Caitlin and son Adrean and wife Bridget. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren with 1 more on the way - Gavin (age 10), Beckett (age 10), Olivia (age 9), Sawyer (age 7), and Saoirse (age 1).
