IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Calvin Willard
Hilton
October 1, 1942 – May 29, 2025
Calvin (Cal) Willard Hilton, 82, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Cedar, Michigan. He was born on October 1, 1942, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Cal was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. He shared a lifelong bond with his beloved wife, Pamela Hilton—his best friend and soulmate. Together, they built a strong and loving family that was the center of Cal's life.
He is survived by his children: Chuck Hilton, Calvin Hilton, Carl Hilton, Heather Merren, and Amy Hilton; his special son-in-law, Michael Merren; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him deep pride and joy. Cal was also a beloved brother and uncle, holding a special place in the hearts of his extended family.
A proud veteran, Cal served in the United States Army and remained deeply patriotic throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and purpose in the woods—if he wasn't tinkering in his garage or working around his 20 acres, he could be found in a deer blind, enjoying the solitude and beauty of nature while waiting for the legendary 'turdy-point buck'.
Cal was also a faithful servant to his church family, where he served in many roles over the years and found great joy in singing in the choir. His humility, generosity, and quiet strength made him a steady presence in both his community and his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, hard work, ingenuity, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A private celebration of life will be held later this summer.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
