Candace Pillinger Griffin, 62, passed away peacefully and comfortably on June 20, 2019. Candy was the daughter of Harry and Stella Pillinger.

Prior to her worsening health, Candy was a free spirt. She enjoyed the water, boating, camping, charter fishing, snorkeling, traveling and her dogs. Candy spent most of her life exploring and lived in several places including Salt Lake City, Utah, San Francisco, California, Naples, Florida and the Florida Keys, before settling back here in Whitehall, Michigan to raise her daughter.

Candy was a good friend, a good mother, and had one of the biggest hearts. She cared for those around her on a deeper level than most. Although she suffered greatly from her over powering addiction, deep down she gave her heart and soul to those that she loved and would do just about anything for anyone. Her family and friends are greatly relieved she is finally at peace and will miss her beyond measure.

Candy is survived by: her daughter, Sarah (Christopher); Grandson, Grayson who she loved dearly; and brother, Mike Pillinger.

Candace was preceded in death by her husband, Jody Griffin, and both parents, Harry and Stella Pillinger.

Her daughter and family would like to celebrate in the good and happy times of her life with a celebration of life open house at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, 413 S. Mears Avenue, Whitehall, on Saturday, June 29th from 3:00 PM- 5:00 PM with a brief time of public sharing and reflection at 4:30 PM. Following the open house a lantern send off will take place at the Whitehall Pier for those who would like to take part.
