Mr. Carl LeRoy Lentz, age 62 of Pentwater, proud grandfather of Jennifer, Nichole and Krista, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 16, 2008 after an automobile accident. Carl was born on July 13, 1945 in Hart to LaVern and Evelyn (Griffis) Lentz. He was a graduate of Pentwater High School in 1964. Carl married the former Kathryn Ann Schihl
On June 5, 1971 and she preceded him in death on September 20, 2004. Retiring July 1, 2004, Carl was employed by Howmet with forty years of service. He was an avid basketball player and also loved to play horseshoes. Carl is survived by his fiancée, Dorene Copus, of Pentwater; his daughters, Jody Adams of Grant and Marcy Lentz of Mountain View, CA; granddaughters, Jennifer (Mark) Bouwkamp of Grant, Nichole Adams of Grant and Krista Adams of Ludington; great granddaughters, Emily and Alida and soon to be expected a great grandson; Dorene's children, Casey, Cody and Courtney Copus all of Pentwater; brothers, Larry (Shelly) Lentz, Gerald Lentz and Brent (Sam) Cluchey, all of Pentwater, several nieces, nephews and cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his wife Kathy, he was preceded in death by parents and in laws, Mo and Millie Schihl. The Funeral Service for Carl will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from the Pentwater High School with Pastor Mark Lillie officiating. Interment in the Pentwater Township Cemetery. Visitation Friday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for expenses.
