Carl was born on August 31, 1932 in White Cloud, MI to Frank and Veryl (MacGregor) Rivait. Carl served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman First Class during the Korean War. He worked for the CSX Railroad as an engineer, retiring after 38 years.

He enjoyed playing the trumpet and bagpipes. He was a pilot and enjoyed working on his home built airplane, as well as radio controlled airplanes. Carl attended Blessed Hope Church in Hudson, FL and Croton Community Church in Newaygo, MI.

Carl was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Joe as well as close friend Paul Hankins. He is survived by his wife Ann, sister Linda (Ben) Handlogton, his daughters Diana (Jerry) Sharp, Cyndi (Dan) Bulk, Karla (Glen) Fountain and Linda (Troy) McClellan. Step-daughters Robin (John Beaune) Meszynski, Linda Walker, Carrie (Joel) Brondyke and Ronda (David) Ames. He has 25 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, along with his nieces, nephews and many special friends.

A celebration of Carl's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Croton Community Church, 5750 Wealthy Street, Newaygo, Michigan, 49337, with a luncheon to follow.

In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Harbor Hospice 1050 W. Western Ave. Muskegon, MI 48441.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
