Carol J. Hammerle, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2018 at her home in Pentwater. She was born on September 6, 1935 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Fred and Ruby (Curtis) Brown, and was the youngest of three children, with two brothers Bill and Carl.

At age 9 Carol moved with her family to Michigan living first in Reed City and eventually moving to Pentwater. At age 17 she met and married the love of her life, Francis Hammerle from Weare and for the next 65 years they built their lives together in the Village of Pentwater. They raised three girls, Theresa, Kathy and Sandie, providing for them a secure and happy home.

Carol retired from the Oceana County Medical Care Facility after 17 years of employment. Her years at the facility included a few different positions with her final role as Director of Diversional Activities. She took great pride in her work and especially enjoyed planning events for the residents.

Carol is survived by: her husband Francis; three daughters, Theresa (Steve) McKee, Kathy (Russ) Hess and Sandie Hammerle; grandchildren, Bruce (Michele) Brown, Alex (Makayla) McKee, Kaleb and McKenna Littiebrant; great-grandchildren, Brenston and Harley Brown, Benji and Autumn McKee; and the loving memory of her grandson, Benjamin McKee, who preceded her death in 2012.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service-King-Hart Chapel, 2370 N. 72 ^nd Avenue, Hart, Michigan 49420, with Father Phillip Swilinski officiating.  Interment will be in the Pentwater Township Cemetery in the spring.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made St. Joseph, Weare Catholic Church.
