Obituary

Carol Jean Kanouse, 76, of Ludington, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Carol was born on December 9, 1941 to Cecil and Sylvia Morse.

Carol was blessed with 4 children in her life. She worked for Metal Works in Ludington for many years. Later after retirement she managed Angelus Bookstore in Ludington. She was a member of St. Simon's Catholic Church. Carol enjoyed horses, golfing, fishing, hunting, shopping, arts and crafts and spending time with her family. She was an out-going, friendly, strong-willed, Independent woman who always had a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed.

Carol is survived by her children, Christeena (Jeff) Dinehart, Catherine (Pat) Black, Cynthia (Mike) Boyd and Caroleena (Todd) Gray; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann (Willie) Garey and Kay (Joe) Morse; several nieces and nephews; and companion Tom Shafer and his family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Smidtz; second husband, Ward Kanouse; her still born infant Connie Jo; and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday April 21, 2018 at St. Simon Catholic Church, in Ludington, with Father Wayne B. Wheeler presiding. The family will receive guests 1 hour prior to the start of the service at the Church. Interment will take place at Pere Marquette Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Fransiscan Order.
