Carole Ann Hooper, 74, of Pentwater, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Mercy Health Hackley Campus in Muskegon. She was born October 12, 1943, in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Frizzell) Heath.
Carole lived her life to the fullest marrying her sweetheart, Richard Hooper, whom she met at the age of 14. Married at 19, on June 16, 1963, in Melrose, Massachusetts, they did everything together. Carole placed her main focus first on her husband, family then friends. She wore many hats, including being a nurse, a hospital administrator, an avid antique collector and a member of several clubs. Carole was also an active member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, in Pentwater, where she served as the parish nurse. Carole loved spending the winters in Venice, Florida, working in her garden, reading and writing.
Carole is survived by: her husband, Richard "Dick" Hayden Hooper; her sons, Paul (Patty) Hooper of Delafield, Wisconsin, and Kevin (Courtney) Hooper of Allendale; her daughters, Kimberly (Jeromy) Robertson of Grand Junction, and Courtenay (Dwayne) Hamilton of Grand Ledge; 14 grandchildren, James, Natalie, Michael, Alex, Tyler, Christopher, Ian, Johnathon, Amanda, Korey, Ryan, Hayden, Cole and Cameron; and her sister, Beverly (Ron) Duke of Rhode Island.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 23, 2018, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, in Pentwater, with Father Phillip Sliwinski presiding. The family will receive friends Friday, June 22, 2018, from 5-7 PM, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 N. 72nd Avenue, Hart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
