Carolee Ann Youngstrom, 95, passed away on October 11, 2026, in Grand Rapids, MI. Born July 4, 1931, to Carrie and Andy Reames, one of seven daughters. Carolee graduated from Hart High School, class of 1949, then became a legal secretary. She went on to work as an Office Manager at Oceana County Mental Health until retirement.

Carolee married Ervin “Erv” Youngstrom on April 10, 1954. They enjoyed traveling to Scandinavia, Great Britian, Canada, Hawaii and around the rest of the United States. She had a sharp mind and was an avid reader during retirement.

Her life as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was solely fulfilling throughout her lifetime. Gardening was a large interest to her. She was especially fond of her peonies and enjoyed gifting beautiful bouquets to friends and family when they visited.

Carolee is survived by her children, Joan (Ken) Gerwig, Scot (Kim) Youngstrom. Grandchildren Dylan, Garrett (Emily), Demi Youngstrom, Anne Gerwig, Mary Fountain, Ken (Mindy) Gerwig. Great-grandchildren Landon (Autumn), Sophia, Hannah Gerwig, Coen, Evan Fountain, Blaikelee, Brooklynne, Madilyn Youngstrom. Sister-in-law Nancy Youngstrom and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Erv Youngstrom, beloved son Steven, parents Andy and Carrie Reames, sisters Alta Shogren, Viola Reames, Evelyn Marchido, Frances Zeedyk, Arlene Osborn-Roche, Donna Cihak. Father-in-law and mother-in-law Axel and Dagmar Youngstrom, and great-granddaughter Kennedy Youngstrom.

As a family we have chosen to honor the life and memory of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother privately and together. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hart Area Library at 415 S State Street, Hart, MI 49420, or Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
