Obituary

Carrie Jean Hoover, 83, of Kingsley passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

She was born on November 1, 1940 to Florence (Ardill) & Jesse Whitney in Flushing, MI.

Carrie and her husband, Bill Hoover, shared over 35 years of marriage together living in their home in Kingsley. They enjoyed several activities together, from attending several Mountain Man Rendezvous events, traveling on their motorcycle to Wyoming, Montana, and several other states and for several years taking their RV to Yellowstone National Park to enjoy watching the wildlife.

Carrie loved meeting new people and sharing her stories of their trips to Yellowstone. She loved playing bingo every week and made many bingo friends throughout the years. Even when traveling and visiting family, she would always find a place to play bingo and invite her family to join her. She also loved crocheting and participating in many craft shows over the last 20 years to sell her beautiful, creative crocheted doilies. She especially enjoyed exhibiting her creations at the Buckley Old Engine show each year, accompanied by her husband.

Carrie is survived by: her loving husband, Bill Hoover; son Michael (Sarah) Smith; Step daughter, Tammy (Kevin) Rompola, step son, Bill (Darla) Hoover; A sister, Vera Harrington; Grandsons: Nathan Challender, Josh (Bobbie) Decker and Carter Rompola; Granddaughters: Logan (Kasey) Riddle and Becky Dixon; seven great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Tiffany and several nieces and nephews.

Carrie will be greatly missed and remembered with love.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
