IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Caryl Nadine
Seaver
October 30, 1935 – May 5, 2017
Caryl "Nadine" Whisenand Fohlbrook Seaver, formerly of Montague, passed away on Friday, May 5 , 2017, in her daughter's home in Dallas. She was born on October 30, 1935 in Elkhart, KS to Jacob and Lorene (Roll) Whisenand. She married Charles "Jack" Fohlbrook in Kansas and moved to Montague. After Jack's passing, Nadine married Calvin Seaver and they lived in Florida for over 25 years.
Nadine is survived by: her children, Gerald "Jerry" (Shannon) Fohlbrook, of Charlotte, MI, Charles Jack "Chuck" (Mona) Fohlbrook Jr., of Marco Island, FL, Melody (Todd) Lane of Spring Lake, MI, and Linnea (Sona) Solbrook of Dallas, TX; her stepchildren: Terry (Karen) Seaver, Diane Rajzer, and Cavin (Cindy) Seaver; her son-in-law, Raymond Schneider; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Neal (Leni) Whisenand, Ben (Hilda) Whisenand, and Bill (Linda) Peterman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nadine was a true renaissance woman. Not only was she a mother of four, who made costumes, homemade sweets and holiday decorations for her family, but she also enjoyed working at Hunt's Hardware, White Lake Eagles, Hooker Lodge, Montague High School, Joanne's Diner, Cable TV, Publix, Budd Mayer, plus many more, all the while she was sewing costumes & cheerleading uniforms, painting dealership windows for the holidays, and reupholstering furniture for others in her home. Nadine was an avid reader, and enjoyed entertaining, and always looked forward to dancing with Jack on Friday night at the White Lake Eagles, or playing Fan-Tan with friends on Saturday evenings. She was a scratch bowler and continued to use those skills for Wii bowling later in life.
During her retirement in Florida, she enjoyed going out to breakfast, playing golf with Cal and shouting, "Bingo!" She was always up for an impromptu trip to the casino. May we all take a little bit of Nadine's strength and wit as we continue her legacy of family, love, and laughter.
