Cathleen Annette Kuebler (Popp), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and cherished member of the Buckley community, passed away on June 17th, 2024, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was born in South Bend, Indiana on January 26th, 1958 to loving parents, George W. Popp and Frida Marie Popp (Mickelson), who instilled in her a deep sense of family values and creativity. Cathleen's passing has left an indelible void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Cathleen was a woman of remarkable talents and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. Her marriage to David was a testament to enduring love and partnership that inspired those around them. Together they raised two beautiful daughters – Stacy (Matt) and Jamie (Terry) - whom she adored with every fiber of her being.
As a grandmother to Clara, Sadie, and Delilah, Cathleen found immeasurable joy in nurturing their spirits and watching them grow. Her presence brought warmth into their lives as she showered them with unconditional love.
Cathleen was the long-time owner of the Traverse City KOA Campground where she poured her heart into creating memorable experiences for families from near and far. Her passion for hospitality shone through as she welcomed guests with open arms and made sure everyone felt at home under the stars.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Cathleen's creative spirit illuminated every aspect of her life. Whether it was through crafting or gardening or simply bringing people together for laughter-filled gatherings at Traverse City KOA – where friends became family – she had an innate ability to infuse beauty into everything she touched.
Her commitment to family extended beyond bloodlines; anyone who crossed paths with Cathleen felt embraced by her genuine kindness and compassion. She had an uncanny ability to make others feel seen and heard – a rare gift that will be sorely missed by all whose lives were touched by hers.
