Obituary

Mr. Charles S. Bovid, 88, of Hart, Michigan passed away, on Thursday, August 28, 2014. He was born December 12, 1925, in Cicero, Illinois, to Stanley and Barbara (Kiebart) Bovid. The family later moved to Hart. He attended Randall School and Hart High School. He served in the Pacific with the US Navy during WWII. Following military service, he returned to Hart, graduating in the Hart High School Class of 1947. He married Anne Forsman on Sept. 2, 1950 in Ludington. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2014.

Family was the first priority in his life. He worked as a lineman for the Oceana Electric Cooperative for 37 years and was a long time member of the VFW.

Mr. Bovid is survived by his daughter, Kathy Bovid of Chicago, IL; and three sons, Greg (Susan) Bovid of Ludington, MI, Doug Bovid of DeKalb, IL, and Jeff (Kelle) Bovid of Nunica, MI; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Stephanie (Bush), Wanda (Orent), and infant sister, Josephine.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Bovid will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the King Funeral Home-Hart. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 2, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be directed to American Cancer Society, 129 Jefferson SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, or the American Heart Association, 3940 Peninsular Drive SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
