IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Bruce
Lindsey
March 28, 1955 – February 17, 2018
Charles Bruce "Chuck" Lindsey, 62, of Ludington, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away February 17, 2018, with family and friends praying by his side at Select Specialty Hospital in Muskegon. Chuck passed away in the loving, sweet arms of his lifetime love, wife, and partner of 34 ½ years Juella "Julie" Lindsey.
Chuck's courageous seven year brave battle with multiple myeloma cancer and respiratory failure is over. He is now with his Lord and Savior in Heaven at peace with loving, warm, angel-soft wings to protect and comfort him, free from all his pain and suffering. Chuck's favorite saying regarding his cancer journey was "It is what it is," never once complaining about his pain or lifestyle change.
Charles was born in Greenville, Michigan, and graduated from Cedar Springs High School. Chuck studied Electronics and Computer Engineering at Michigan Technological University. He worked in the automotive industry as a Quality Control- Computer Inspector Engineer and in design. Chuck was a computer wizard: brilliant, intelligent, and a special man who loved his job. He was challenged by automotive specifications, policies, regulations, and procedures. With his expert knowledge and experience, he helped people and mentored employees who wanted to learn for the future. Chuck made a huge difference within his career and retired after forty years in the automotive field. As a brave and proud US Army veteran, Charles served as a Surveillance Infrared Inspector Repairman. He earned an expert badge for the use of M16 rifles and a Good Conduct Medal. Chuck received an Honorable Discharge from the US Army and the Army Reserve.
On July 22, 1983, Charles Bruce "Chuck" Lindsey married his best friend and soulmate Juella Joann "Julie" Heth. A beautiful bride and groom, on a warm and sunny day on a wild, daisy-filled hilltop meadow, the couple said their vows. Together, they later designed and built their country, cozy home on the meadow, pounding and building every board with T.L.C. and God's blessing for a "home sweet home!"
Charles is survived by: his "Sweetie" and wife of 34 ½ years, Juella "Julie" (Heth) Lindsey; brothers, Mike (Dena) Lindsey, Scott (Jane) Lindsey, and Jim Lindsey; sisters, Sheryl (Jeff) Schafer and Mary Nasca; brother-in-law, Ransome E. Heth Jr.; son, Bryan (Jennifer) Peckham; granddaughters, who are adorable and loved, Erin and Hanna Peckham; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; wonderful friends, Trudy, Joanne and Bob, Jennifer F., Dawn P., Ray, Sally and associates at Challenge Manufacturing in Holland where Chuck last worked.
Charles' father, Bert Charles Lindsey, and his brothers, Mike, Jim, and Scott, also served in the US Army. His dad, Bert, earned a Purple Heart and several other medals for serving in the Korean War. All proud veterans; "Land of the free, because of the brave!" Chuck was looking forward to the reunion with his father who passed away forty years ago. Their reunion, "immeasurable;" he is reuniting in Heaven with his parents, Charles (Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Jorgensen) Lindsey; his father, Bert Charles Lindsey; grandparents, Charles (Zella) Lindsey and Einer (Elizabeth) Jorgensen; mother and father-in-law, Ransom Edward (Juanita Joanne "Nita" Standish) Heth Sr.; Juella's grandparents, RD (Eliza) Standish and Charles (Louise) Heth; our beloved fur babies (miniature poodles), Wags, Chee-Chee, Kishaé, Linda Eliza, and Bonnie Rose; several aunts, uncles, and friends are now reunited with Chuck in God's garden over the rainbow bridge.
"Just you and I Babe" --- Chuck and Julie retired to beautiful Ludington in 2013, fulfilling another dream together living by Lake Michigan and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. "Real Sweet Love:" Brave, adventurous, fun, and loving! --- "Chuck and Julie show" must go on. Fishing off the dock of the bay, watching the ships roll in, picnics, boat rides, ice cream cones at the beach, and watching beautiful sunsets with love and passion, hand-in-hand at Chuck and Julie's favorite spot. Making Julie laugh was one of Chuck's specialties. He was her "Chuckles," She will always keep his sweet smile close to her heart with cherished memories of love.
As an incredible, smart man, Chuck was a master woodworker and leather craft designer. He was a model builder of Army vehicles, airplanes, and ships. Chuck created inventions and enjoyed collecting swords, guns, and dragons. Charles will always be "Queen Juella's" knight in shining armor. Love at first sight, "King Charles:" her sweet, loving, fun-time husband extraordinaire; a debonair gentleman who liked taking his "Queen Juella" to the "King's dinner show" at the Excalibur Castle in Las Vegas and romancing her with a planned Gondola boat ride through the Tunnel of Love. "Oh what fun!" "Our love story will forever be alive in my heart, Sweets." XOXO
"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
Charles and Juella, a "life well loved" for each other deeper than the ocean with two hearts beating in rhythm as one "wonderful love life." "See you over the rainbow, my love, my sweets XOXO. I will love you forever and always in my heart. Sweet Dreams!"
God has blessed all who knew Chuck with his undying love and laughter; we will deeply miss him.
