Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Thomas Scholl Jr., of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the home of his daughter.  He was born August 4, 1941, in Muskegon, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Block) Scholl.

Chuck retired as a Master Sergeant in the US ARMY after serving for 22 years including 2 tours in Vietnam.  Chuck then worked for the Muskegon Department of Training and Education for 17 years until retiring in 1999.

He was a loving, caring dad, husband, grandfather and friend who enjoyed hunting, fishing, being an avid bowler and playing slots at Little River Casino.  Chuck was a life member of the Don Rae VFW Post #8846 in North Muskegon, and a member of the Fox Lake Gun Club for many years.

Chuck is survived by: his daughters, Cindy (Larry) Scholl of Whitehall, and Annette (John) Montgomery of Montague; his special companion, Anne Elliott of North Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Amanda, Michael, James and John Jr.; 3 sisters, Janet Mulready of Muskegon, Marsha Zwart of New York and Carol Jansson of Missouri; his brother, Gary Scholl of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by: his wife, Marlene, in 2009, and his brother, Donald Scholl.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the Don Rae VFW Post #8846, 1061 Witham Road, North Muskegon, 49445.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
