Mrs. Charlotte E. Altland, age 92, died Friday, February 22, 2008. She was born December 22, 1915 in Grand Rapids to Andrew and Lillian (Prescott) Stevenson. On January 22, 1937, she married John Kenneth Altland in Indiana. She was a homemaker and had completed one year of college education. Mrs. Altland is survived by her daughter in law, Barbara Altland of Hart; 4 grandchildren, Jeff (Denise) Altland of Florida, Denise (Mike) Wils of Grand Ledge, MI, Greg (Colleen) Altland of Detroit and Brad (Melissa) Altland of Hart; 5 great grandchildren, Emmett, Rachael, Amanda Rose, Robert and Alison; 1 sister, Gayle Shear of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Kenneth Altland, son Thomas Altland in 2005, 1 brother and 5 sisters. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Altland will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home with Fr. Anton Tran officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
