IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clair Ann
Dobias
July 24, 1939 – October 28, 2023
Clair Ann Dobias, of Suttons Bay, passed away peacefully in their beautiful home on the waters of Suttons Bay surrounded by her loved ones on October 28, 2023, at age 84. With the help from the love of her life and husband of almost 21 years, Frank Dobias, her family, and her caring team from Hospice of Michigan, she got her wish to be in her earthly home when she went to her eternal home.
Clair was born in Howell, Michigan, on July 24, 1939, to the late Irving and Marie (Duquette) Shelters. She was preceded in death by: her parents, three siblings, Floyd, Bud, and Betty Lou; her first, husband Ernest Bennett; and a step grandson, Michael.
Those left to cherish her memories include: her beloved husband, Frank Dobias; five children, Sue (Steve) Roman, Greg Bennett, Rachelle Trumbull (Jim), Jim Bennett (Katrina), and Dawn DePew (Mark); three step children, Debbie Dobias, Dawn Russell (Steve), and David Dobias (Lisa); 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Percilla.
Clair loved and cherished her family; they brought great joy to her. She had a deep love for her animals, sewing, quilting, fishing in her younger years, riding motorcycles with her husband; she loved living on the water, and to top it off, she loved her sweets.
Clair had many jobs throughout her life but the one she loved and gave her purpose, was giving care to those who couldn't care for themselves. She gave that gift to many and has passed that love of caregiving on to many in her family.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Buckley Tabernacle Church, 213 East Wexford Ave, Buckley, Michigan 49620. (Flowers may be sent here if you would like.).
