Mr. Clare "Bus" Brimmer, age 89, died Friday, February 8, 2008. He was born in Hart on January 17, 1919 to Ed and Martha (Graham) Brimmer. He married the former Pauline Verschuren on June 3, 1937 in Elbridge Township. Bus and his family had lived in Elbridge Township for 43 years, where they farmed raising cherries, asparagus, dairy and beef cattle. For thirty years, he also worked at Stokely's. Bus and Pauline moved to their present home in Weare Township twenty years ago. Bus loved to hunt and fish and became known as the best fisherman on the Pentwater pier. He is remembered for being a loving, caring and demanding father, who taught his children how to work and respect others. Bus is survived by wife of seventy years Pauline and their children, Chuck (Linda) Brimmer of Hart and Pat (Bob) Flannery of Walkerville; seven grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; sister, Carol Dombloski of Washington State. Bus was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and 3 sisters. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Elbridge Community Church with the Rev. Dennis Hintz officiating. Interment in Elbridge Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home.
