Clark Fordyce McKeown, 84, of Pentwater, Michigan, died peacefully in his home Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by his family. Clark was living life to the fullest. He was born on October 1st, 1939 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Thomas McKeown and Ruth McKeown-Snead.
Clark went to Culver Military Academy then enlisted into the US Army where he was a helicopter crew chief. He worked at The Standard Oil Company Amoco till he retired at the age of 55, where he enjoyed working in the motor club, credit union and as a systems analyst. He was a long time distinguished member of the Pentwater yacht club. He helped with the Pentwater service club and enjoyed being a member of the Hart long rifle and Fin and Feather Club.
Clark enjoyed sailing his Mirage 24 yacht named The Wayfarer, loved to build cars from the ground up and was a skilled woodworker who could make anything for his family and friends. He was so proud to have gone to Culver Military Academy where he rode in the Black Horse Troop for President Eisenhower's inaugural parade. He was the President of the North Beach Central Association for many years.
Clark is survived by: his brother, Thomas McKeown and family; his daughters, Rebecca (Aleksy) Urick, Heather (Kurt) Welsch and Sara McKeown, his grandchildren, Kurt Welsch and Eve Welsch; his ex-wife, Darcy McKeown; and his cats, Pretty Girl and Schmooey.
Clark was loved by everyone and he loved so many.
