Mrs. Claudia Norrine Snyder, age 90, of Mears passed away Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility. She was born May 4, 1916 in Mears to Claude and Ellen (Swingle) Till. She married Arthur Snyder in Hart on May 1, 1937 and he preceded her in death in May of 1991. She was a communicant member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary-Altar Society. She was the Postmaster at Mears from October 1970 until her retirement on December 31, 1984 and was a member of the National League of Postmasters. She is survived by her children, Donald (Linda) Snyder of Mears, Douglas (Mary) Snyder of Shelby Twp., MI, Linda (Mike) Cox of Kansas, OK, Kathryn Duncan of North Muskegon, John (Anette) Snyder of New Era, Barbara (David) Duncan of Holland, MI. Thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mrs. Snyder was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Bernadine Wimpee and Pauline Till. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Schneider, presiding. Interment in Mears Cemetery. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Gregory Catholic Church or to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
