Mr. Clyde Edgar Bursley, age 89, of Hart, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012. He was born February 4, 1923, in Grand Rapids to John and Elizabeth (North) Bursley. He was employed as a maintenance worker at Whitehall Leather until his retirement in 1979. He was also an auto mechanic at Hart Auto Company. He married the former Viola Rockwell in Hart on June 10, 1943. Mr. Bursley served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He always carried a Chevy tow rope in his Ford. He was known for his kind and gentle heart, his smile and his whistling. Clyde loved children, he especially enjoyed rocking his own grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and was an avid Detroit Tiger Baseball fan. Being an outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. He was very generous with his time and talents when it came to his family and friends.Clyde is survived by his wife, Viola Bursley; three daughters, Barbara (Larry) Flood, Carol (Gerry) Puffer, and Becky (Chris) Romero, all of Hart; one son, Clyde (Diann) Bursley, Jr. of Mears; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. A sister, Arlene Campbell of Hart, and two brothers, Richard Bursley of Hart, and Robert (Ida) Bursley of Rockford, also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Marion, George, John, Earl, Donald, and Francis Bursley; and two sisters, Dorothy Brown and LeNore Pollice. The Funeral Service for Mr. Bursley will be Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Hart with Pastor Dennis Foley officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at King Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials be directed to American Cancer Society or the Crystal Valley Care Fund.
