Mrs. Coral Lucille Oomen, age 75, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Mercy Hospital due to complications from Heart Bypass Surgery. She was born on May 11, 1932 in Crystal Township to Glenn and Edna (Sawdy) Feister. She was united in marriage on January 29, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Elbridge to Lawrence Oomen. They were residents of Crystal Valley for 56 years. Coral was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare. Aside from spending time with her four children, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, she enjoyed spending time with her sisters and close friends shopping, playing cards and going to bingo. She was a homemaker and a former nursing assistant at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility. Coral is survived by her three sons, Ron Oomen of Custer, Douglas (Mary) Oomen of Sparta and Robert (Linda) Oomen of Hart; one daughter, Laura (Mike) Blackmer of Crystal Valley; five sisters, Pat (Les) Rowe of Muskegon, Hazel (Ron) Houston of Walkerville, Shirley (Arnold) Merrill of Shelby, Norma (Dan) Johnson of Muskegon and Glenna (Larry) Gustafson of Pentwater. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Oomen in 2005 and her daughter Marsha Parsons in 1977. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Eleven O'clock from St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare, with Fr. Anton Tran presiding. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
