Mr. Cory A. Griffis, Jr., age 18, of Hart died Friday, November 13, 2009. He was born in Shelby, Michigan on June 11, 1991 to Cory and Tina (Cory) Cory. Cory was a student of Hart and former Assistant Coach at Lakeshore Public Academy. He was an avid fan of WWE, high school basketball and volleyball, music, video games, and loved to be with friends and family. Cory also inspired to become a teacher. He touched many lives in Oceana County and will be greatly missed. Cory is survived by his parents, Cory and Tina Griffis of Hart; Brothers, Collen Griffis of Hart and Ryan (Keith Furstenburg) Stanfield of Georgia; grandparents, Pat (Jim) Wilkenson of Bitely, MI, Curt (Suzie) Griffis of Ludington, June (Gary) Stanfield of Hart; many aunts, uncles and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lynette Cory and his Aunt Sarah. The Funeral Service for Cory will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at the Hart Middle School. Interment will be in the North Weare Cemetery. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home.
