Obituary

Cynthia Ann Magel, of Fife Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2022, at the age of 67. Cynthia was born on June 1, 1955, to her beloved parents Harold Magel and Barbara Bennett.

Cindy spent her life a major proponent of bettering the lives of Veterans. She organized many memorials and fundraisers to support those who fought for our freedom. She served many years on the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Fife Lake, at one point even being the president. She also spent 15 years working for Central Dispatch 911 in Grand Traverse County as well as the manager at Days Inn.

Cindy is remembered for her love of deer hunting, her rescue dog, Susie, wolves, plaid apparel, and the Red Wings. However, none of these things stole her heart as much as her family. Her love for her family was enormous and will live on through the years to come.

Cynthia is survived by: her partner of almost 20 years, Robert (Bob) Kerr; her one and only sister, Debbie Rodriquez; nieces Holly, and Rene (Steven); nephews, Robert, Patrick, David, and Gunnery Sergeant John (Lisa).

She is preceded in death by: her parents; many aunts and uncles; and her brother-in-law, Rob.

A celebration of life will be held by the family in the near future.

Memorial contributions may be made to Coats of Valor, Tunnels to Towels, or the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
