Cynthia Ann "Cyndie" Wood, 78, of Hesperia, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026. She was born November 2, 1947, in Muskegon, Michigan.

Cyndie was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a compassionate friend whose greatest joy came from caring for others.

A graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, Cyndie continued her education at Muskegon Business College. She spent more than 30 years as a medical transcriptionist, working in hospitals and physician offices throughout West Michigan. She loved typing, learning new medical terms and was fascinated with medical science.

In 1994, she and Jack settled in the St. Hubert's community of Hesperia, embracing the peaceful beauty of the White River and the lifelong friendships they found there. Cyndie later worked at Donnelly in Newaygo until her retirement.

Cyndie loved sweets, especially Hershey's Milk Chocolate, part of her daily diet. She also liked to cook and bake. She collected and read numerous cookbooks and cooking magazines looking to try new recipes. German kuchen cake; a treasured family recipe, often enjoyed with coffee in the morning or afternoon, served like a coffee cake or muffin. She also loved shopping and finding new decorations for her home and the changing seasons.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially watching and feeding the birds that visited her yard. Hummingbirds held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the peace and beauty they brought each summer.

Traveling was another passion Cyndie shared with her husband, Jack. Together they explored the country on their motorcycle, attending bike events, and scenic destinations across the United States and Canada, Alberta Canada was one of her favorites, seeing the glaciers and mountains.

During part of their retirement, they lived in Beverly Hills, Florida where they continued making memories from the seat of their motorcycle.

On November 1, 1969, Cyndie married the love of her life, Jack Ernest Wood. Together they shared more than 54 years of marriage before Jack's passing in 2023. Their life together was built on love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to one another.

In her later years, Cyndie was rarely far from her phone. Whether scrolling through social media, Pinterest or keeping up with family and friends. She also found great happiness in her cherished cat "Mrs. Kitty" also called Princess.

Cyndie is survived by her children, Jack Danley Wood and Kristopher (Janine) Wood and brothers-in-law, Jim Wood of Muskegon and Randy (Vicki) Wood of Flat Rock, North Carolina; along with many dear friends: Mike and Marge Frasier, St. Huberts neighbors, Russ' monthly lunch group and lifelong bike friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Ernest Wood; her son, Jeffrey Wood; and her parents.
