Dale R. Peters, age 63, of Mears, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby. He was born March 25, 1947 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to John and Helen (Kittle) Peters. He married Phyllis A. Gorenflo August 23, 1998 in Ludington. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from General Motors – Flint Plant since 1995. He enjoyed hunting and hot rodding and had been a member of Vassar Mudrunners.

Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Phyllis Peters of Mears; children, Robert J. (Tracy) Peters of Cincinnati, Ohio and Sherri Parent of Mayville, Michigan; nine grandchildren; his mother, Helen Peters of Vassar, Michigan; brothers, Doug (Tammy) Peters of Vassar, Donald (Kay) Peters of Mayville, Danny (Theresa) Peters of Menifee, California, and Duane Peters of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Bonnie (Rick) Wiggins of Flint and Kathleen (Rodney) Nickerson of Brimley, Michigan.

Funeral services for Mr. Peters will be held Monday, November 15, 2010, 2 pm at King Funeral Home in Hart with Pastor Guy Rayle officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
