Dale J Uithoven, 89, of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2026, at Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. He was born August 7, 1936, in Kalamazoo, the son of William and Mabel (Newell) Uithoven.
Dale was self-employed and started Dale’s Body Shop which later became Dale’s Body Shop and 24 Hour Towing, and is now Dale’s Radiator and Air Conditioning Service. Dale truly loved working on and being around cars, especially old ones. He had served on the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department for many years and had been a founding member of the Muskegon County Wrecker Association. Dale was also a member of the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the National Automotive Radiator Service Association (NARSA).
On April 19, 1956, in Montague, Dale married Faith LaFevre who survives him. He is also survived by: 4 children, Dale “Butch” (Deborah A.) Uithoven, Tamie Kassner, Bill (Debra) Uithoven and Leah Uithoven; 8 grandchildren, D.J. (Julie) Uithoven, Michael Uithoven, Naomi Kassner, Daniel (Amy) Kassner, Hannah (Zach) Harris, Noah (Rosie) Uithoven, Zachary (Nichole) Uithoven and Jacob (Evie) Uithoven; 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way; his sisters, Sally Pekel and Judy (Garry) Antler; and numerous nieces and nephew.
Dale was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Marvel and Donna; his brother-in-law, Bill Pekel; and his son-in-law, Jay Kassner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel with Pastor Tom Coffey officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.
